Growing Up

I was raised in a Christian home and was saved at the age of eight. My parents were always faithful to bring me with them to church and they made sure I was taken care of spiritually. I responded to their care for me in this way and over time I came to know and love the Lord. In High School I even consecrated my college years to the Lord and wanted to follow Him wherever He would lead. Yet before I came to the university my spiritual life had plateaued. I just wasn't growing anymore. I wanted more than I was getting. Then I began to meet with Christians on the campus and my spiritual life skyrocketed. I was no longer just a passive Christian, just taking the crumbs that others had to offer me, but rather I learned both how to eat for myself and even how to feed others with the riches of Christ. My experience during my four years at the university with these believers taught me what it means to enjoy Christ. They opened the Bible to me like it had never been opened before. They fed me with Christ. They gave me spiritual food and drink. In short, they spiritually helped me grow up.
